THE ART OF MIX AND MATCH - HOW TO BUILD A TABLESCAPE ACROSS COLLECTIONS

THE ART OF MIX AND MATCH - HOW TO BUILD A TABLESCAPE ACROSS COLLECTIONS

No matching items, no problem. SANÁ pieces are designed to work together across collections. Here’s how to layer them for a table that feels entirely yours.

Over the years, I have built a collection of individual items bought from around the world. Not enough for a table setting but too unique to live in a cabinet. If you have those special items sitting around the house and an every day go-to set for regulars, don’t hesitate to bring them all together to create a mixed and matched set.

Remember to bring depth, height and texture in. Choose a base first. If this is a solid colour like a wooden table or a bold base like a floral tablecover, what you need is to strike a balance. Too much colour with items on top can seem too busy while light colours and only white ceramics can feel a bit dull. One of my favourite elevators are candle stands and candles. You can use flower sponges on your existing candlestands to create floral arrangements or a few feature candles can bring everything together for your table.

Once the base sets the scene. start layering your plates, using raised platters, bowls or bottles, hero centre pieces or floral napkins – you can get ideas from our tablescapes or put your own spin on them.
